About Me

My photo
Tanja @ beauty4ashes
Welcome! I'm Tanja, mother of twins, lover of all things beautiful, and an aspiring seamstress. I learned to sew from my mother, but my recent inspiration is all due to the wonderful work of other bloggers who share their wealth with the world on their blogs. I love to sew clothes for my kids and myself, and while I'm living in Africa, I get to scour the open-air markets for second-hand t-shirts and vintage sheets to transform into beautiful new items. Hence the title... inspired by a verse from the Bible that says that God has given His people a crown of beauty instead of ashes. I believe in the power of creativity to take something apparently worthless and create something beautiful and useful... E-mail me at tanja (dot) valsgard (at) yahoo.com
